I was born in Alexandria in 1955. I breathed the smells of the orient. I listened to people speaking Arabic, Armenian, French and English. I grew up in a family of people making music and creative things loving all kind of arts.
My personal obsession began at the age of 12 when I bought my first professional camera, an Asahi Pentax Spotmatic F, and the obsession continues to this day. Since those days I worked with a dozens of cameras from rangefinders to 8×10“ large format ones.
It took me many years to find myself artistically.
My vision, my approach to my work is best described as a combination of conceptual and classic portrait photography. My ambition has always been to capture a natural beauty in a setting where a model’s personality is allowed to flourish realistic and with true expression while a story is being told.
